Fantastic video and I love the plan you have put together. I read all of Steinbeck's works last year and it was a rewarding experience. I haven't read any of Wharton's books although they are on my TBR. Look forward to hearing how your year goes.
We read The Custom of the Country for the Novel Pairings Podcast last year and this year I'm hoping to read Twilight Sleep. Happy to chat classics as a former English teacher if you'd like! 📚
I read Pride and Prejudice again in 2023 and loved it. Since then, I've been telling myself that I want to read all of her books but for some reason I still haven't.
In January I read The age of innocence and shortly after Ethan Frome and I loved both of them so much. The age of innocence was such a good book and it took me only three days to read it because I was so into the story and wanted to finish it and see how it ends. I loved the writing style as well.
I'm curious about what you will think about it, so I just subscribed to your YT channel :)
Some of my richest teaching experiences have involved discussing Edith Wharton’s novels—particularly _The House of Mirth_ & _The Age of Innocence_. They offer such a thoughtful opening to consider the price one is willing to pay to experience autonomy—and the moral & ethical ramifications of such pursuits. I would enjoy the opportunity to participate in these conversations in the coming year. Best regards!
Hi! Wharton scholar here 🥰 we read Mirth & Innocence in my book club last year — would love to chat Edith any time!! ✨
